Terms of Service
Effective November 4, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mario Noriega, an individual established in Guatemala City, Guatemala, trading as Ctrl Log (“Ctrl Log”, “we”). They cover using the Ctrl Log app and your account, and paying for Ctrl Log Plus. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two disagree, Apple’s agreement wins.
What Ctrl Log is
Ctrl Log is a tool for keeping track of what you spend. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and it is not connected to your bank.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13, or the minimum age for digital services in your country, and able to agree to these terms.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google, so keeping your Apple or Google account secure keeps Ctrl Log secure. The account holds only your name, email and sign-in ID; the Privacy Policy says how it’s handled. You can delete it at any time in Settings › Account. Your entries stay on your iPhone either way.
We may suspend or close an account that is used to break the law or these terms, or to attack or overload the service. Closing an account doesn’t delete your entries, and it doesn’t cancel Ctrl Log Plus, which Apple bills.
Using Ctrl Log
You may use Ctrl Log for your own personal, non-commercial tracking. Don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer it, try to get into our server or other people’s accounts, or sign up in bulk or by script. The app belongs to us; the entries you make belong to you, and you are responsible for what you log.
Check what the AI logs
Ctrl Log reads what you type, say, scan or pay with Apple Pay and turns it into entries. It can get an amount, a store or a category wrong. Look over your entries before you rely on them.
Your data is yours
Your entries stay on your iPhone and we never receive them. That also means we can’t restore them for you. Keep your iPhone backed up, and export to CSV whenever you want a copy.
What stays free
Logging, Apple Pay logging, your full history and CSV export are free and don’t need Ctrl Log Plus.
Ctrl Log Plus
- Plans. Just me, Student and Family, each billed monthly or yearly. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you pay.
- Payment. You pay through your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Plus is then tied to your Ctrl Log account too, so it works on any iPhone where you sign in.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before then.
- Cancelling. Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
- Free trial. Yearly plans start with a free week for people who haven’t had one. The app reminds you 2 days before it ends. If you don’t cancel, the yearly price is charged when the week is over.
- Student plan. For people who are currently studying. We don’t ask for proof.
- Switching plans. Apple handles it. Moving to a higher plan starts right away, with credit for the unused time. Moving to a lower plan starts at your next renewal.
- Family plan. Shared with up to 5 other people in your Apple Family Sharing group.
- Refunds. Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. If a price goes up, Apple tells you first and, where required, asks you to agree.
- If Plus ends. Its extras pause. Nothing you logged is locked or deleted.
Apple and Google services
Apple Pay, Shortcuts, Apple Intelligence, dictation, iCloud and Sign in with Apple are Apple’s, and Sign in with Google is Google’s; each follows its maker’s terms. If one of them changes or stops, the Ctrl Log features that rely on it may change too.
The App Store
Because Ctrl Log comes from the App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for Ctrl Log or its content;
- Apple has no duty to maintain or support the app;
- if the app doesn’t meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund its price, if any; Apple has no other warranty duty for it;
- Apple isn’t responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance and consumer protection, or for claims that it infringes someone’s intellectual property;
- you confirm you aren’t in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of restricted parties;
- Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you.
Changes to the app
We may add, change or remove features. What’s listed under “What stays free” stays free for as long as Ctrl Log is offered. Your entries live on your iPhone, so export keeps working even if Ctrl Log stops being offered.
No warranty
Ctrl Log is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make from its numbers or for entries that are lost or wrong, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid for Ctrl Log Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that can’t be waived.
Disagreements
Write to [email protected] first; most things are fixed that way, and we both agree to try for 30 days before going further. Refunds go through Apple, as above. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala, and the courts of Guatemala City decide disputes. If the consumer law where you live gives you the right to use its law or go to its courts, you keep that right.
The rest
These terms and Apple’s agreement are the whole agreement between us. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn’t mean we give it up. You can stop using Ctrl Log and delete your account whenever you like.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions go to [email protected] or 41 Avenida 15-49, Zona 5, Jardines de la Asunción Sur, Guatemala City, Guatemala.
